Welcome to Bioneers in Alaska!
What is Bioneers? Since 1990, the international Bioneers Conference in California has assembled a unique cross-cultural and global gathering of visionary innovators who are working with nature to heal nature. Bioneers offer practical solutions for restoring the Earth — and people. The Bioneers draw from four billion years of evolutionary intelligence and apply nature’s operating instructions in practical ways to serve human ends harmlessly. We herald a dawning age of interdependence founded in natural principles of diversity, kinship, community, cooperation and reciprocity.
Since 2002, Bioneers has partnered with universities and communities around North America which host regional events featuring a satellite downlink of the Bioneers plenary sessions. The University of Alaska Anchorage was honored to be selected as one of the 15 satellite conference sites for 2004. Our first Bioneers in Alaska event attracted 300 people from 22 communities all over Alaska — from Kotzebue to Haines, Nome to Eagle.

Hey Alaska Bioneers! We want to see what you are doing. Are you gardening and using Permaculture design? Do you use alternative energy to fuel your home or office? Are you part of a group working on a community project? Bioneers is a community of people working together to create change-new systems that work in harmony with the earth. We want to share your work with others. Your project could be the inspiration for someone wondering where to start and what they can do at home.
Each week we will feature a photo submitted from the Bioneers in Alaska community. Please include a 1-2 sentence description of your project. If you are willing to take questions or give a tour of your project please include your contact information.
